John and Furnish welcomed their first son, Zachary, via surrogate in 2010, with Elijah arriving in 2013 through the same surrogate. Public sightings of the family together have been scarce in recent years, with only a handful of confirmed appearances throughout 2025. Back in March, they attended John’s annual Oscars viewing party, and in September, John shared an Instagram photo of himself and the boys at a Watford FC match wearing matching blue jerseys to cheer on the team he has owned since 1976.
Just weeks ago, the longtime couple celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary, marking the occasion with heartfelt Instagram tributes. John wrote, "Happy anniversary to my incredible husband, @davidfurnish. Today we celebrate 20 years since our civil partnership, 11 years of marriage, and many more years of happiness to come!" Furnish added, "20 years ago today we were civil partnered. 11 years ago today we were wedded. Happy Anniversary to my magnificent husband @eltonjohn. I’m so grateful for the beautiful life we have built together."
