Imagine a healthcare system where every piece works in perfect harmony, dedicated to your well-being. That's the vision Kaiser Permanente is bringing to life with their 2026 Rose Parade® float, themed "A Better Idea for Health Care." This isn't just a catchy phrase; it's a celebration of their integrated approach to healthcare, marking 20 years of participation in the Tournament of Roses®.
Kaiser Permanente's model is all about teamwork. It brings together doctors, nurses, insurance, and pharmacies into one coordinated unit. The float itself will visually represent this journey, starting in a doctor's office and showcasing the support of a dedicated care team. Think of it as a seamless, compassionate experience, every step of the way.
But here's where it gets interesting: the float will also highlight innovation, research, and technology. For instance, an animated MRI machine will symbolize early detection through advanced imaging. Surrounding these elements will be vibrant floral displays, representing vitality and warmth. Could this emphasis on technology raise questions about the balance between high-tech care and the human touch?
Kaiser Permanente's CEO, Greg A. Adams, emphasizes that their integrated model is built on teamwork and an 80-year history of bringing together healthcare professionals. He highlights the commitment to personalized, seamless, and integrated experiences focused on the whole person.
Members, employees, and physicians will ride on and walk alongside the float, each representing a story of how teamwork transforms health journeys.
The float will be designed and built by Phoenix Decorating Company.
Kaiser Permanente has a history of award-winning floats, including the Wrigley Legacy Award in 2025 and the President Award in 2024.
